FLOWBLADE 2.20 released. This powerful video editor now uses SDL2 video playback for Flatpak on all systems with MLT 7.30 or higher. But video playback for native Wayland without XWayland or for GTK4 does not currently seem possible with SDL.

I did more #SDL3 stuff in @fedora this week!

- Rawhide/F42 now has sdl2-compat 2.30.50 replacing #SDL2.

- Reported a couple more issues and got fixes done.

- Updated SDL3 to v3.2.0 for F40+

- My change for Fedora Linux 42 to replace #SDL2 with sdl2-compat is done. SDL3 powers all #SDL applications in F42!

The #github repository of my #sega #mastersystem and #gamegear #emulator called "Masterlator" is now public 🙂 I've rewritten the code in proper C++, use #cmake as the build system, utilize #sdl2 and added a new #debugger with #wladx compatible *.sym file support, memory viewer and tile/sprite viewer. It's rather basic now but will hopefully be a good tool for #homebrew game #development in the future.

So on a whim I ordered the #Trimui Smart Pro, a Linux based handheld retro-emulator thing.

It arrived the other day and I'm actually quite surprised. It's a pretty capable system, performance wise. The display is pretty sharp and the built quality is decent. (It came pre-loaded with a shedload of roms.)

Meanwhile, I've discovered their toolchain and set up cross-compiling.

It's quite easy to run #homebrew from the SD card. It supports #SDL2 and #QT5!

George Decker, Version 0.17.0, das "Companion & Pyramid Update"

  • Einige Objekte können nun auch auf anderen Ebenen erstellt werden, wodurch beispielsweise Partikeleffekte und Geräusche nun auf allen Paralax-Ebenen möglich sind
  • Neues, überarbeitetes HUD
  • Brandneuer Soundtrack, exklusiv für den neuen Level komponiert
  • Der Level greift viele Elemente aus meinem Stopmotion-Film auf
  • Neue Objekte! Unter anderem gibt's jetzt Batterien für die Taschenlampe, die auch leer werden.

It's been a while but progress on my game #MultiMall hasn't stopped.

I've spent the last 2 months getting my game's first vertical slice ready.

Things I've added:
- Dynamic Peon Appearance ✅
- Game state saving and loading ✅
- Peon Job #Lua scripting ✅

Meaning I can add content to MultiMall very easily, here's a quick look at the process of adding a new hair style. (First time editing video)
