Today, in my game The Isle of Elanor, I created a Zelda based cooking system.

So I'm hoping this dev diary is going to be interesting/informative/helpful: How much did it cost to make Iron Village? I'm hoping that transparency around the money side of things will be helpful.

Here's one level finished!
With every level I gained some experience, what works, what doesn't, items must not be confused with each other, color is not a good way to difference them because of colorblindness, sometimes translation can be tricky, and so on...
I guess we all want to be the next Balatro or the next Blue Prince but as long as we're having fun, it doesn't matter that much. Let's have fun my game dev friends!
I've got a revelation on how to make an "easy" gamification of the Duck ... make it a Tamagotchi!
Though Tamagotchi is TM so I guess it's gonna be "Survival mode" or "Pet mode"?
Been thinking on the UX/UI of the RubberDucking app.
So I came up with this.
Still a mock but at least I have a structure.
I'm quite proud of it for doing it from a none designer background haha. KISS
Okay now we have a house, and it needs some interior design!
For every room I chose some photo references for angle of view, mood, colors, etc.
And then I needed 30 to 40 ideas for the items hidden in the room!

My current #jam is #PizzaJam (it's not about pizza. Well, the game isn't, anyway) and I am doing my first experiments with #Box2D physics in #Defold.
Some #conceptart for the #puppets to solve the logic #puzzles with. They are element-based: fire, ice, stars, and metal. I've had the idea a few weeks ago - there's always a jam to try them. It's very handy that this way I can tackle on new thing at a time.

Aaaaaaa, did a scary thing and made my game public on Itch! Go check it out! It's Free! It's Pre-Alpha! I think it's pretty cool! I'm using too many exclamation points!
Lots more refactoring work in this #devlog. I've separated out a Nightmare System, created a HUD class for the UI, reworked the JSON data so that I could create 3 distinct levels to the game, and finally allowed the player to win the game. https://youtu.be/AEYyfzUlEb8 #indiedev #solodev #monogame #buildinpublic #girlswhocode
In Chapter 3 the bad guys remember your moves, make sure you vary your combos!

So by 2019 it was time to create the real levels of my hidden object game! But first I had to build a house
What game can you find brave knights, construction bots, prison wardens, pain mirrors, chaotic walls, crows, laser turrets, AND self-replicating crab units?
Why none other than Cube Chaos of course! 500+ units and 1000+ passive effects are packed into the RTS/tower defense autobattler that is maybe TOO chaotic for some of us...
Fully migrated to bevy 0.16.0-rc.3
UI & Game Logic seem to fully work
wobbles will be off 'til 0.16.0 release
..and shading adjustments will wait too!
