@knitting musings
I want to knit a yoked tee. But I want the neckline on the front to be quite a bit lower than on the back because a large expanse of fabric is not that flattering with a large bust.
The plan is, to use the principles for a yoke from "Knitting in the old way" and put short rows into the middle section. But that means I will need more sts on the top section to accommodate the longer row.

I can get a bit nerdy at times, so I really love this blog post from a few years back.
So many ideas, so much information. I think I'll have to read it several times to really digest it all.
Love that.

What to do?
I could knit some more on a sock for my daughter or I could try to finish the sock pattern I started over 6 months ago.
Maybe both? A bit of knitting first and then back to the computer ...
Sounds like a plan
I published a #knitting #pattern for a stole - the "Baltic Beach Stole". Like all of my patterns it's free.

also available via Ko-fi

Let me know, if you like the pattern. And - in case you choose to make it - show us pictures.

New project.
Linen because it's summer.
2.5 mm needles because it's summer.
Call me crazy.
It's going to be another summer top. I don't know what yarn it is exactly, only that it's pure linen. I'm guessing it's about 500 m / 100 g and I have one ball of each color. Worth careful planning that should be enough.
Guess who has a piece in the upcoming Sooke Fine Arts Show? (Me. It's me. I do.)
Sneak peek
I'm close to finishing the pattern for a pair of wristlets that go with the "Seven Poncho" I recently released.
Hopefully I can publish this week. Totally out of season for my part of the world but there always winter somewhere.

Playing around.
This yarn is very fine linen, 500m per 100g, in several shades of jeans blue (there label says inkjet printed - whatever that means).
Like all linen, it's a challenge to knit with. I tried several needle sizes. The swatch on the right is 3.0 mm and I think that's the one I like best. There are 4 cones with a total of 2,000 m - enough for a long duster / coat, I think.

Does it still count as 'packing' if it's 'desperately trying to finish the collar on this jacket so I can fold it up and seam it when I get there'?
how to keep the inside point from folding over, moving around, and generally being an awkward, bulky PITA, while still having that side look tidy when the jacket is open?
The answer (I hope): a cufflink. Looks like a pretty but subtle bit of bling when the band is folded back; the toggle should be almost invisible in the garter stitch when closed. W e'll see if it works as well IRL as it does in my head. (This is why I do prototypes, my friends.)
Hey, wonderful fiber arts people. I love knitting, but my *job* is words, and I’m here to help if you’d like skilled, fast, affordable editing for crafty stuff. Queer-friendly & also just friendly-friendly. Be in touch :) https://www.eliotwesteditorial.com/short-projects.html

Every once in a while, I think, "I should really get on with getting my patterns up on [crafting & pattern website]." Then I get an email about their latest marketing plan, which usually involves selling your work at a huge discount, and tying that sale to some holiday.
Look: knitting patterns are already too cheap, IMO. Could we maybe not 'Celebrate International Women's Day!' by devaluing (mostly) women's IP?
Late to the party, but: in an attempt to find a way to write a chart for a slip stitch pattern I had in mind, I just discovered Stitch Fiddle, which is the most amazing thing. I am still working out the borders, but had a lot of fun hyperfocusing on learning the system. It's excitingly intuitive. #knitting #KnitDesign
Hey #knittersofmastodon , I remember seeing a lace pattern someone made recently on here for The Cool S (you know the one). I thought I had bookmarked it, but apparently I hadn't. Does anyone have the link?

Edit: found it
I set this side over the weekend to make a cowl (to be revealed soon).
Now I'm back at it, slow going because that's about 300 sts on each row and Kauni yarn has a bit of a tendency to be sticky. It's down to earth wool.
I'm improvising as I couldn't find just the right pattern, for the moment I want this part to be about 40 to 50 cm long (16 to 20 inches).
