ESPRESSO MARTINI EGGNOG

4 whole eggs
6 oz (by volume) baker's sugar
4 oz cognac
2½ oz espresso liqueur
2½ oz fresh brewed espresso
12 oz whole milk
8 oz heavy whipping cream

Garnish: grated nutmeg
Method: Pull a double shot of espresso and allow to cool. Crack the eggs into a blender and then begin blending on low, sloooowly adding all the other ingredients in the order listed. Really, take it slow! Pour into a serving container and let rest in the fridge for a whole day before serving. Garnish with nutmeg, cinnamon stick, or something seasonal.

A sure-fire crowd pleaser at any winter gathering! This is the original template from @highproofpreacher@threads.net, but it begs for your personal touch. The one pictured here actually has some Jamaican rum because I didn't have quite enough cognac, and I added salted caramel liqueur for funsies. I could imagine pistachio liqueur or amaretto adding a nice touch as well.

I promised to post a link to the "Amazingly Good Eggnog" recipes IF it turned out: it DID! So, 4/4 taste testers agree it's far better than any store-bought. It doesn't make as much as you think--maybe 8 mugs to serve, unless you add the 1 1/2 cups liquor, ha ha! Ours is for family so it's virgin. Worth the time, not hard to make, and yes, it's worth waiting the 24 hours. Maybe a little taste at 9 hours like we did. If you have any ?, just ask.

AllrecipesAmazingly Good EggnogThis eggnog recipe makes the creamiest homemade eggnog thickened with tempered eggs and flavored with rum, cinnamon, vanilla, nutmeg, and cloves.

Here’s the finished eggnog, so at least you have an idea what quantity this recipe makes. I think I’m “supposed” to show a glorious mug of eggnog now, but “everyone” says wait 24 hours. We each had a spoonful and were pleased! Can’t wait to later today when 1/2 goes in the “virgin” bottle and the other I’ll had rum, bourbon, whiskey and/or brandy. Just to try it for the record 😉#TipOfDay

Recipe comes when we do try it for reals.
