What is IMPRS?

The International Max Planck Research School for Epigenetics, Biophysics and Metabolism (IMPRS-EBM) is a joint PhD program of the Max Planck Institute and the University of Freiburg.

IMPRS-EBM integrates strategies from molecular biology and biochemistry with biophysical and computational methods and is designed to equip our more than 55 doctoral researchers with the tools to study epigenetics from both a molecular biology perspective and through the lenses of metabolism and biophysics.

We are looking for a team player. Your tasks:

Coordination of the PhD Program – Overseeing recruitment, marketing, and admissions

Graduate Curriculum & Training – Organizing courses, workshops, and development opportunities

PhD Administration & Management – Handling doctoral affairs at MPI-IE and within the program

Support & Advising – Providing guidance and assistance to doctoral researchers

Stakeholder Liaison – Facilitating collaboration between scientists, admin, & the University of Freiburg

Requirements:

PhD in Life Sciences
Professional command of both written and spoken English
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Motivation and interpersonal skills to interact with researchers and administrative staff

Preferences:

Experience in program or science management as well as graduate student education
Professional German skills
Experience in copy writing and CMS

Proposing violation of the 1st Law of #Thermodynamics in #QuantumPhysics (which its founder, #MaxPlanck explicitly avoided), was not the only time "Bohr got it wrong", but it was a doozy! See G. N. Lewis and any #chemistry textbook.

By the way, for #HistoryOfScience #Histodons John Dalton is the founder of #QuantumTheory because he correctly proposed the quantization of *mass* in the modern #AtomicTheory that he introduced almost a century before Planck proposed the quantization of #energy.
