A deadly, drug-resistant fungus that preys on the sick and old is continuing to spread in hospitals and senior care facilities across the country, killing more than 1 in 3 infected. This preliminary study suggests that circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) may be a useful biomarker for predicting recurrence in patients surgically treated for early-stage esophagogastric #cancer. If those likely to experience recurrence could be identified early they might benefit from additional treatment such as #Immunotherapy.
