Such a shame, it's not something I'd to go out of my way to look for but I was fully prepared to drop a tenner on a first generation Pong clone randomly found in the wild.

We could have dealt with the obvious dirt and superficial damage but then we tried to open the back compartment, which took some effort because it was full of about 8 D-cell batteries that looked like they had been left in there since the 70s, leaking lovely corrosive juices all over the poor thing's innards.

No idea if we could get it working even if we tried to restore it, so we left it where it was. Still feel sorry for it because I watched The Brave Little Toaster as a kid and I've never recovered.

Today's unusual #CharityShop find is this DVD, "Discovering campanology in Peckleton". The content is niche, perhaps unusual to some, but I'm more intrigued as to how such a local of local interest item made its way ~200 miles from a Leicestershire village to #Carmarthen, south west Wales. #Peckleton

I found this jumper in the charity shop and although I like the fit and colours, I don't like the pink s.d. army thing. So I decided that I will cut out flowers ftom this material i have and try to cover it with that.

Today’s surprise #CharityShop finds, John Coltrane, Giant Steps & Charles Mingus, Mingus. The Coltrane’s a bit overpriced for a generic reissue but mint condition and the Mingus was a bargain.

A giddy charity shop find for 30p per 78rpm record. Mazel Radio, on London Road, Manchester, was legendary. Audio equipment & parts, repairs, records, musical instruments, it sold it all music and television related. And bikes! Mazels lasted until the early 80's I think, when a lot of commercial buildings were bulldozed.

Found this sealed board game at a Manchester charity shop for £3. The shrink-wrap was a bit dusty, but it cleaned up ok. It's heading to a Christmas toy appeal, I'm sure someone will like it, as there's often not much for older teens.

Edit: I've checked reviews and this is a bit niche, so I'm going to offer it locally for a donation to charity instead.

A light clean and repair on an early 1960's Linguaphone Spanish 45rpm record set. Brought from a charity shop and will be a present for someone who will appreciate it.
The case looks grubby but is imitation snakeskin.

A 1938 300+ page directory of the docks connected to the Great Western Railway, with ads, photos, fold-out maps, and details of the docks, trade and methods, including rates for each item.

I doubt many of these directories survive due to needing the storage space in offices.

Charity book bargain of the year from Barnardo's, 4 books for £1, including The Scarfolk Annual by @Richard_Littler, Andrew Marr's History of Modern Britain, a Spanish recipe book, and a book on how to draw.

This charity shop is giving strong Mastodon-aesthetic vibes and I am here for it.

Acquired what appeared to be a lovely little sunrise clock at a local #CharityShop.

No branding anywhere to be seen but the style seemed unique enough I easily found the website.

Turns out for full-function, one needs an app. And the app's #TOS includes this little gem in addition to the more usual crap.

Soooo, I have a nice little sunrise lamp now, because my response of #BwahHaHaHaHaHaNo (aka "decline") means advanced features don't seem to work.
