It's hard to get proper visualizations of SAR imagery due to high image dynamics. I have spent quite some time tweaking this one, which represents the parameters of the dual-pol H-alpha decomposition on the new Sentinel-1C sensor! Disclaimer: it's visually compelling, but probably not physically accurate. :)

This looks like an image from a sci-fi movie but it's actually a piece of a simulated SAR image rotated by 90 degrees. SAR-art.

To follow up on my previous post about InSAR coherence, this is an example showing how coherence changes when built-up areas replace vegetation and how it compares to optical. All images have been processed with EO-Tools ;)

- New features: better S1 coherence estimator - multilooking is now performed prior to coherence computation. It avoids averaging the coherence itself (theoretically sounder approach).
- Bugfix: an error with DEM download due to Planetary Computer now requiring signed urls was fixed.

A great application of interferometric coherence is the masking out of vegetation to focus on built-up areas (or the opposite). The next version of eo-tools will introduce some improvements to the current coherence estimation implementation. Here is an example on the city of Berlin.

- InSAR processing of partially overlapping products (like for instance from S1A and S1B) is possible provided they share the same orbit
