Okay, a question for #GoToSocial users:

I've noticed that my profile page on the web shows the first post in threads I've started, but not any replies or boosted posts: https://gts.sadauskas.id.au/@aj (open the link in your web browser)

I've looked through all the settings, and there doesn't appear to be one change that.

Am I missing something?

Is there a way to get replies or boosts to appear there too?

Or is that just the way GtS works?

Yesterday, I set up my own single-user Fediverse instance using #GoToSocial. Eventually, this account will be my main presence on the Fediverse and (using BridgyFed) BlueSky.

But.

Before I pull everything and everyone over, there's a few things I need to take care of. One is waiting seven days before BridgyFed starts federating this account to BlueSky.

But the other biggie is moderation.

So, Mastodon and GtS instance admins: Are there particular blocklists you're using? And any tips on setting it up?

I'm assuming this is not possible, but maybe someone with more #fediverse knowledge can help.
Some accounts, potentially with the same owners, regularly post the EXACT same story. Local news channels are the worst. I could block them, but I would like to still see stories from those nearby cities if they aren't duplicates.
Is there any way to prevent identical posts from different account on mastodon?

I just had a post reported by "mastodon.online"

Which is odd because that is a domain, not a user, and there is nothing wrong with the post at all.

What is going on? Is this some new kind of spam?

@aubreyjones, I'm obviously going to dismiss this but can anyone tell me why there isn't a user who made this report? Why is it just the domain? It feels very OFF.

I just refused a Follow Request that I was trying to accept.

And can't find the account that requested.

Ok, so, I can’t change the access settings, it’s locked into private access, which is ok I suppose, but.. I’m only able to pull photos out once. The second time I can access the album but it hangs on adding them to posts. And then subsequently it just fails to access the album. It seems to reset if I restart, but just does the same thing again. And yes I did uninstall and reinstall. So… #mastodon #mastodonhelp

Can't be done. Just found out.

I'm trying to use Duck Duck Go browser as my default. I've been using Brave. Both Brave and Opera allow a search of open tabs. Using DDG search for a website on mobile brings up the option to go to an open tab. Why can I not find the option on the desktop browser to see a list of open tabs and search within them? What am I missing?

Is there a way to have filters/mutes applied when searching a hashtag? I want to see what people are posting in #pokemon but there’s a bot account that toots with that hashtag every 15 minutes. I muted the account but I still see it while searching the hashtag and it drowns everything out. This happens both in Ivory and in the web UI.

Kinda miss positing photos.

When I tap the photo icon, it just spins and I can’t access my pictures.

I guess I can always copy and paste.

Mastodon (and probably Fedi in general) is cool and whatnot, but there's one thing that I can't find a way to do: I can't mute boosted users, only those who do the boost, which is too radical.

Is there a way to mute users who are getting boosted?

I’ve created a list of people I know in real life, but for some reason it’s not showing any posts when it did before. Do the lists only show recent posts? Is this something I can change, or is this an error? This occurs on the web and in the iOS app. #mastodonhelp @Mastodon
