Me: "I like going to mineral shows."
Person A: "I know! I use crystals for healing too!"
Person B: "Actually I don't believe in crystal healing."
Me: "... actually I like geology."
Persons A and B: *blank stare*
been here, done this, had this very conversation.
@TarkabarkaHolgy
I don't believe in crystal healing either. Or as I like to say, crystals and rocks don't speak to me.
@TarkabarkaHolgy When you wish that crystal healing applied to your bank balance after a mineral show …
@TarkabarkaHolgy You could split the difference and get both a copy of Albertus Magnus "Book of Stones" as it is simultaneously a book of magic, and probably one of the first books about geology.
*feels there is always a way to make everyone happy with antiquarian book choices*
@TarkabarkaHolgy if you like geology, you’ve probably held rocks and if you’ve held a rock, you’ve maybe felt calm or relief - so it’s both! & that’s this rock shop’s motto:
@carlysagan I love it, I can get behind this :)
@TarkabarkaHolgy when I’m stressed, squeezing a rock does seem to help a lot lol. In terms of exact healing for each type of rock (lol), I think ppl are just trying to get at how valuable setting intentions can be?
@carlysagan I read a book written by a geologist and a psychologist about crystal healing. They broke down the concept, but they did acknowledge the role of placebo and mindfulness in the psychology behind it.
@TarkabarkaHolgy I'd sooner believe in a medieval health potion (at least that can have naturally working herbs) then the ability of staring at some rock to heal me xD
