Well, today marks an important step in my life as a #flautist ... We removed the first bung on my open holed flute! Starting with F ... which actually feels like it's probably the easiest!

It's a whole new sensory experience which has thrown me quite a bit .. but I'll get used to it!

I got this flute about 4 months ago and it's been quite the learning experience, a whole new ball game playing on a fully silver flute compared with a nickel student flute!

Playing my flute in my first ever in person concert in September, so naturally I'm already panicking!

Looking forward to learning some fun pieces for it though, alongside my Grade 5 syllabus.

A little update on my flute practice!

This is my lovely second hand, new to me Miyazawa flute.

Full silver flutes take a lot more puff to play, getting there!

From ABRSM grade 5, Out Walking by Errollyn Wallen.

Currently have bungs in the holes - as I get more confident we will remove them one at a time until I'm fully open!

Loving it, the sound is much more beautiful and rich!
