Over the past few months I collected three metal prints for mecha-focused anime and games that were important to me.

Time Bokan was a show I watched obsessively when I was a kid in the form of the Time Fighters dub we had. The time-traveling mecha Time Mechabuton was endlessly cool to me.

A decade ago Xenoblade Chronicles X became my favorite video game and remains so now. Exploring Mira in a skell was a revelation and a stunning experience.

In 2023 and 2024 I watched Super Electromagnetic Machine Voltes V at a pace of an episode each week. The themes of parental sacrifice and working class resistance resonated deeply.

Some more. These are only a small subset of the hundreds I have taken so far.

The crew in the middle of the night, in the area between Primordia and Oblivia. The sky is cloudy, still a big bright planet can be seen on it, and a huge floating animal is in the sky, too. This animal looks like a giant floating thanks to two organic balloons attached on top of its wings. On the back around the start of its tail, some yellow gloomy appendices looking like the lights of a vehicle.

Attacking a Ganglion defence turret near a cliff in Oblivia. The turret looks like a small spaceship floating close to the ground level.

Running in rainy New Los Angeles, near the B.L.A.D.E. hangar. The ground is wet and the sky grey and cloudy but still lightened by some sun.

Fighting a big insect with Ling not far away from a gigantic dinosaur. The shock blast of a weapon completely hides the insect, making it look like we’re attaching the dinosaur, which would be foolish.

My Xenoblade Chronicles X crew inside the vast B.L.A.D.E. hangar.

Engaging a fight against a Evelo (French denomination) in a plain. An Evelo is a bird that is twice the height of a human, with a curved and spiky beak. It runs fast but apparently doesn’t fly, and he has two appendices looking like testicles under the head.

Émile, Elma, L and Lao on the Ma-Non ship. Two Ma-Nons are discussing at the forefront of the picture.

Fighting a big Duogill (French denomination) on the north shore of Oblivia, an arid region of planet Mira. Our crew has the feet in the water: Yelv is blasting it’s laster canon, Elma uses is dual guns. A Duogill is a kind of shark floating two meters above the water level.
