OK, we’re still making progress.
Today, she actually got dressed! There’s been no nausea, and very little back pain. She slept better than the night before, and we still think the cold pack for the #RestlessLegSyndrome worked.
She’s continued to eat a little; fruit, some porridge, some soup, a jelly pot and some sweets for energy. She’s been in her chair in the living room all day, and has looked at her paper and enjoyed #TheSimpsons.
I made a referral to the council for a lifeline - our current service, which I pay for, is not suitable and employs insensitive workers and the sooner we can get rid of them, the better. I’ve also been to the surgery to get a form that my mum can give consent for me to talk to the surgery on her behalf. I’ve also registered for the surgery’s online portal - although it didn’t work and need to wait for a manual verification. Then we can push for a medication review.
Oh, and I’ve done some work, too. And covered the old car, which is mum’s really, for my sister to use to transport her to appointments. But my sister is now banned from driving (long story), so the car is registered as off road.
Right, I think things are still moving in the right direction.
She had a wash today! And that meant that I could change the bedding. It seemed like she had a fairly good night sleep - the cold pack wrapped in a towel seemed to help with the #RestlessLegSyndrome.
Eating has continued - even asked for fruit this morning. More fruit through the day, and half (or just under) a tin of vegetable soup followed by a pot of jelly. An iced lolly was eaten, and drinking has kept up.
She’s been in the living room all day, and hasn’t been to bed. We would’ve gone out for a wheelchair push, but the weather was awful.
Of course, I’m going to have to go home some day. A neighbour has offered to pop in about three times a week for a chat and check, help organise meds, etc.
I was supposed to go home today for a car service tomorrow, but have postponed. Then I’m meant to pick up my #NHS #CPAP machine on Wednesday but I’ve asked to postpone. I want her to remain as independent as possible, but I also want her to be safe - so that my mind can be at rest too.

Do you hate RLS as much as I do? It started last night and ruined both my nighttime sleep and daytime activities. It’s past midnight, and I’m reluctant to go to sleep because I can feel it, and I’m afraid it will get worse once I hit the pillow.
@kamikat oh, I struggle with #restlesslegsyndrome so bad. There are nights when I genuinely consider chewing my own leg off just to get some sleep. But knowing my luck, I'd still feel the #rls like some sort of vengeful phantom pain gremlin.
