The scene between Ezri and her mother towards the end of #ProdigalDaughter reminds me of the final scene between Data and Doctor Marr at the end of TNG's #SiliconAvatar. I think TNG nailed the scene and DS9 tried too hard and missed it. And DS9 should have probably dropped the final scene between Ezri and O'Brien.

This episode really builds nicely.
I appreciate the writer's efforts to tie this episode into Season 6's #HonorAmongThieves. It's the kind of world building and continuity that made DS9 special and alive. And it rescued this otherwise cringe-fest of an episode.
