I've done some updates to Peplum (my #Python #PEP lookup manager of the #terminal) in the last couple of days.

Brand new PEP by @emmatyping to add Zstandard to the standard library:

Will it make it in to 3.14 before the feature freeze on 2025-05-06? It'll be close but it's possible!

The PEP also suggests namespacing the other compression libraries lzma, bz2 and zlib, with a 10-year deprecation for the old names.

The more I see #Pep, the more I get why people like Jürgen Klopp decided to get a breeder.

Only few people can be a gaffer so much (continuous) time and have their mental health not decline trying to manage a club and trying to get that razor thin successfulness edge.

Even Jurgen decided to fuck off to Red Bull just to have fun. People like Arsène Wenger and Sir Alex Ferguson come rarely in a generation.

I'm used to PEP in the Python world and DEP in the Django world.

It actually makes sense that similar mechanisms exist in other communities, especially in the Fediverse.

TIL: in #Python's #PEP "API" the authors of a PEP are held as a comma-seperated string.

There's at least one author who has a comma in their name.

PSA: there's an effort by @karo @ https://github.com/pypa/packaging.python.org/pull/1662 to write some PyPUG documents regarding license declaration in #Python dists and #PEP 639. I think additional feedback would be useful.
