Mirkwood Book Nook.

To display the Mithril-Miniatures figures of Elrond and Thranduil I built a book-nook.

Scratchbuilt trees and some elven architecture.

Built the box first, with planning for the interior. Then built and painted the two halves before closing them together.

Had a dream this morning that at the beginning of time, when humans still wandered around naked and were mostly ignorant of the wider world, Sauron ruled over the human world, causing huge floods that separated people from each other and big lava flows and other Evil Shit. Until the half demon #LuoBinghe comes along and destroys Sauron in combat, causing the flooding to recede and the earth to heal. One man, closer to the combat and more self aware than others tells Binghe to “destroy the tapes [of the battle]”. Then Binghe runs off along the ocean and around to the “back” of the human world (which was like one big mountainous island surrounded by water) and goes under a mountain/world-tree and….becomes Gollum. And I was so enraged by my brain’s insult to sweet beautiful Binghe making him a little worm like Gollum that I woke up mad and couldn’t get back to sleep. So now I’m awake really fucking early.
