Back to Madhur Jaffrey
Flavours of India: Recipes from Kerala, Goa, Gujarat, Punjab, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, by #MadhurJaffrey
As I've mentioned, my first two books on Indian cooking were by Jaffrey. I was attracted to this one as I had been in Goa and Karnataka on my first trip to India. And oh boy, some of the recipes have become FFFs (Family and Friends' Favourites). Some friends still call me to tell me that they've cooked so-and-so dish, sometimes for guests or for xmas, or just for themselves.
Thanks Madhur
Plus (and it's a big plus) this book sits flat when open to a recipe, unlike the other Jaffrey cookbook that I have. That one needs to be weighted with my mortar and pestle to sit open.

It's a long weekend here - make sure you get a cookbook down from the shelf and browse it. Which one will it be????
Here it is back to #NigelSlater
Tender: A Cook and His Vegetable , by Nigel Slater
Simple, easy recipes. His books take up so much room in my bookshelves (they are always fat).

The River Cafe Cookbook, by Rose Gray and Ruth Rogers
A definite classic and I love it a lot.
