Chengdu-based alternative rockers Riot In School have recently released their second album, "//Punk Rock Blasphemy". This latest offering represents a confluence of ambition, ideals and passion, and is definitely worth supporting. The debut album was produced by Yang Haisong and released by Maybe Mars. This time, however, the band have decided to release it on their own label, Youthquake.

Guangzhou's 乔迁日 Jo's Moving Day, now disbanded, should be regarded as IFTYAY's predecessor. Their only album is considered a masterpiece of not only the shoegaze scene but Chinese indie rock of the 2020s (for me). Their style has been described as "emogaze", but the distinction between this and conventional style may require further explanation.

From Shanghai's Yanchester district, The Numen plays captivating psychedelic rock that could be described as shoegaze, a genre often regarded as introspective and self-celebratory.
Their first EP, Darkness is Easeful, released in the summer, draws on the indie music traditions of southern China, but like their city colleagues RUBUR and Pale Air, it will have a wider reach and appeal.
