A climbing game with two gimmicks. (1) fiddly special powers (2) fiddly scoring rules that aren't so different from regular climbing game scoring.
I'm not averse to special powers. Tricktakers and Cosmic Encounter are good but in those the special powers are bonkers.
Short Zoot Suit by the same designer is genuinely innovative.
@iain the scoring rules seem quite simple. How are they fiddly?
Also, are you saying you'd like the special powers to be a bit more extreme? I thought they were just tweaks to your hand
@Simpike It's fiddly for a climbing game. The best climbing games (Scout, Gang of 4) are simple. The scoring doesn't add anything as you are forced to go out if you can. I object more to the special powers as they aren't simple enough to understand immediately and the rules are not printed in full on the cards so you have to refer to the reference sheet too much. It's all too much for a light game with plenty of luck.
