Looking out on the trees bordering the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forest on a rainy, misty September morning. I love coming back to this view whenever I visit — it heals something in me.

A view of distant hills covered by a forest of fir trees. In the foreground is a wooden deck whose barred railing is reflected on the floorboards damp from rain. Through the railing can be seen a winding river, the Clearwater, bordering the trees on the far side. Morning mist rises from the treetops into gray-and-gold clouds with a hint of blue sky beyond.
