Today's draw from the Strange Animals #AdventCalendar: vampire bats, and vulture bees. The latter I did NOT know about. Wow. Fascinating.

They sound like the type of insect I would make a podcast episode about : 
@StrepsipZerg so far I have learned they eat meat from dead animals by entering their skull through the eye socket. And then they create protein rich jelly from it. (Not honey.) :D
@TarkabarkaHolgy oh yep I remember reading about them! I didn't remember that was their vernacular name but that tracks.
I bet they have some reeeaaallyyy cool microbiomes to go with that food habit...
