About once a year (may be more frequently) someone in the business press complains about graduates 'not being able to think for themselves' and links this to science-based subjects that reply on 'criteria-based' testing (i.e. exams).
This leads them to suggest that businesses & society in general needs more arts & humanities graduates... but despite calls like Margaret Heffernan's (in the FT today), corporate recruiters still continue to downplay liberal arts education.
