Two Great Blue Herons, just above the tree tops, both flying left to right across the frame. Their long legs dangling down, necks stretched out a little in the familiar S shape, and long bills straight ahead. A good angle to appreciate the wingspan of this magnificent Great Blue Heron. #Birds #Photography #BirdPhotography #FujiFilm #XT5

A Great Blue Heron, a large water bird with long legs, neck and bill, seen here flying over grass in an estuary area - actually with two other herons but I only managed to get a good shot of a couple (coming later). The bird has a huge wingspan (6ft) and the wing feathers are darker bue-grey at the ends and along the rear of the wing, with the inner wing matching the back and tail. The legs are trailing and the yellow bill can be seen and the mostly white head, with a darker cap.
