** Animal Care Appreciation Week - Weedeating **

Working in teams, staff and interns spend many hours daily weed-eating. By the time the teams get 100+ habitats finishedt is time to start over again with the first habitat. We need to purchase ten new wead-eaters soon. We truly appreciate the dedication of these amazing interns and staff. Weed-eating, every day, is a labor of love.

There's nothing more unpleasant than removing weeds from wire fencing at the community garden. So I maintain a healthy border on the perimeter so it doesn't come to that. In my head I refer to it as the DMZ. #weeds #weeding #allotment #garden #gardening

It just occurred to me that weeding is just like debugging. The point of gardening isn't the weeding, it's the plants you want to grow. Just like the point of coding isn't debugging, it's writing the code you want to run. Yet both weeding and debugging take up a lot of the time of gardening and programming.
