Matthew Conroy<p>Spent most of the day finishing Dostoevsky's The Idiot. This was my third time reading it; the last time was more than 20 years ago. I was disappointed for most of the read (which is extra disappointing because I often tell people this is one of my very favorite books), but the final 150 pages really makes up for the other 450, I think. It's still one of my favorite books. </p><p><a href="https://mathstodon.xyz/tags/theIdiot" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>theIdiot</span></a> <a href="https://mathstodon.xyz/tags/Dostoevsky" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Dostoevsky</span></a> <a href="https://mathstodon.xyz/tags/books" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>books</span></a> <a href="https://mathstodon.xyz/tags/reading" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>reading</span></a></p>

Dostoyevsky makes for wonderful immersive reading. All you need to do is accept that all the players are driven by forces they do not understand and cannot master. There always is redemption in the end --- whether this is genuine or artificial is hard to say, I get some aesthetic and moral joy from those endings. </p><p><a href="https://mastodonapp.uk/tags/BrothersKaramazov" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>BrothersKaramazov</span></a> is it. Patricio Bateman<p>La cubierta está inspirada en una obra del pintor expresionista Erich Heckel (al igual que su gemelo “Héroes” de Bowie). Dustin Kiyeon Chang<p>Zulawski's manic energy has no comparison. The film is hard to follow since its dialog is totally nonsensical. But one grandiose, emotionally and physically bare, violent scenes after another, you get into the groove of things. You get to feel the film first, as you try to digest what it all means. Chaos is methodology and it's an amazing feat. His examination of Love &amp; animal instinct is embodied by Sophie Marceau. She eats up the screen. <a href="https://universeodon.com/tags/andrejzulawski" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>andrejzulawski</span></a> <a href="https://universeodon.com/tags/SophieMarceau" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>SophieMarceau</span></a> <a href="https://universeodon.com/tags/LamourBraque" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>LamourBraque</span></a> <a href="https://universeodon.com/tags/theidiot" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>theidiot</span></a></p>
