@tokyobybike I also welcome the change in instructions and them becoming more detailed and showing more in-between steps that might be intuitive to more experienced builders, and were omitted in the 90s

sure, i’ll figure it out, but i know a handful of people that would get overwhelmed and give up

I have one mid size #lego #technic set from ‘91 the instructions of is a total of 20 pages, and finding the differences between pages drives even me mad as it’s black and yellow only

#LEGO day continues...

This is through bag 16 of 20. Several sections of body panels including the doors, are done. The front and back seats are in as is the dashboard and front and tail lights. The doors can open and close to let you see more of the interior. So many cylindrical pieces that can be tricky to fit since they have to precisely line up with the holes they go in before they can be snapped into place. My fingers feel like I've been playing guitar for hours.

It's #LEGO day! Well, more like LEGO weekend, but still.

Current build is kit 42177, the #Mercedes Benz #G500. It's 99% #Technic so there are tons of girders, axles, gears, and pins.

The pictures here show bags 1-7 of 20.

The engine and drive train are made up of many gears and simulated pistons. The steering wheel is connected to a rack and pinion that turns the front wheels. The front and back wheels are connected to spring loaded shock absorbers.
