Actually, let's take it a little further.
In the RPG world, we talk about "a roll" meaning "a result of rolling a die or a number of dice." As in: "What was your roll?" meaning "What did you get when you rolled that die/those dice?" There's also "make a roll" as in "roll a die or some dice for a specific purpose." I'm not about to delineate all the possibilitties. #IYKYK
And yes, I whinge about people using "dice" as a singular noun. Not on my watch, kids. You do you, though. #OldBat

I just experienced an unreal level of satisfaction at discovering, yes, indeed, I had a spare roll of tin foil tucked away in the back of the drawer.
