Fremont Motel was one of the vintage signs selected to be rebuilt as part of Project Enchilada. Funds were granted from the Centennial Commission and it did not include tax payer funds. This sign was completely rebuilt. Fremont Motel was built in 1947 by Leo Schiffman. Sometime in the 1960's, it was renamed Ari-Vada Motel by Earl Childers until the 80s. That's when the Fisher's renamed the property to Fisher's Motel. It was recently named Alicia Motel until it was closed by the Downtown Project in 2013. The building was damaged by a fire and demolished in 2022. The rebuilt sign still stands.

It's been a while since I posted, so how about something different (for me) - some nice, vintage neon. This bar is a few blocks from my home, and has been a neighborhood fixture for decades. The sign was non-operational for many years, but the owners had the neon repaired a few years ago. Sadly, since this was taken, some of the tubes are again broken. Hopefully they will decide to repair it. #neonsigns #signs #beer #signage #neon
