Mild night produced 14 #moths of 5 species. Still the usual quakers and drabs, but had a mint Hebrew Character, and probably my very earliest Bright-line Brown-eye - not the prettiest of moths, but this is particularly early in the year to be seeing them. Another few weeks and numbers/diversity will pick up and species will change.

Overhead shot of a 1cm moth on a finger. It is grey-brown with hints of blue-purple and some gold. It has a diamond shaped furry top to its head. The wings have mirrored stigmata. A narrow black vertical rectangle angling slightly inwards mirror each other in the centre of the moth. Outside of this is what resembles a black block letter L, again mirroring each other left and right. The inner edge of the L is slightly concave, so that it resembles the hebrew letter nun.
Overhead shot of a scrubby looking arrowhead shaped moth. It is plain brown with pentagonal shaped furry head. Main markings are a white line near the bottom running left wing edge to right wing edge, rising to a small peak in the middle. And in the middle of the wings, left and right are mirroring stigmata, a white ovoid shape above a slightly brighter brick-red-brown reniform kidney or eye shape.

Hespérie du Dactyle (Thymelicus lineola), mâle, que j'avais identifié à tord en Hespérie de la Houque (Thymelicus sylvestris).

Quand on a corrigé mon erreur j'ai appris que s'agissant d'un mâle on pouvait se baser sur la bande androconiale pour distinguer Thymelicus lineola de Thymelicus sylvestris chez qui elle est plus grande et plus épaisse, mes vues des antennes n'étant pas assez bonnes pour identification en utilisant la couleur du dessous de la massue.

Hemaris tityus. Especie de mariposa de la familia Sphingidae, distribuida por la Europa templada y Oriente medio hasta el oeste de China, aunque en general es una especie escasa. Las larvas se alimentan sobre escabiosas, Knautia arvensis y Succisa pratensis. Los adultos alcanzan una envergadura de 40-50 mm. En la imagen una cópula de esta especie.
