I give up. I tried to work with the #shell #elvish which on a first glance made a very promising impression. However, I want to setup a custom prompt including git state (and do it on my own to learn how to do this). I am struggling for 3 days now on this and did not get a satisfying result.

This is the nail: here I want to assign the output of a command to a variable, a pretty simple task. If fails if the output is empty. I couldn't find a solution for this. Very annoying.

So most of my #crafts are of course much simpler looking than my introduction lets to believe.
But that really only seems so as there are many things that are not obvious when looking upon an item.

In addition to interesting #caveats one might endure while #crafting , you may also get an earful of #estonian #language .
It is said that this is as good as listening to #Elvish . There are English subs!

I am now level 35 and this lovely creature is what I decided to turn myself into on my birthday on the 27th:) This one was a challenge because... I'm travelling and... I forgot all of my eyeshadow. So shading, colouring and the design had to be changed a lot. 😅 But I found a way either way!

To all Lord of the Rings fans:

How good are the songs in Elvish?

Nothing can replace our original songs, of course. But at least they can capture the mood and language a bit and let us enjoy the music even longer with "new songs".

ps: a reasonable and fair model for the financing of the original artists is of course still absolutely necessary

Wie gut sind die Lieder auf elbisch geworden?

Nichts kann natürlich unsere Orginal Songs ersetzen. Aber zumindest können sie die Stimmung und Sprache bisschen einzufangen und uns die Musik mit "neuen Songs" noch länger genießen lassen.

ps: ein vernünftiges und gerechtes Modell für die Finanzierung für die Orginal Künstler bleibt natürlich weiterhin absolut notwendig.

I really enjoy #powershell in many ways. Its #objectpipelies are powerful and expressive, it seamlessly interfaces with a plethora of platform APIs, and its syntax is discoverable with incredibly rich tab completion and help on the command line or web.

I would love to find some way to bring these concepts to *nix for folks who might not be able or willing to switch to specialized shells like #nushell or #elvish. Both projects are amazing but I honestly can't afford the time to rewrite the rich functionality I get from zsh /oh my zsh/plugins.

Maybe when I retire :) Come to think of it, building similar functionality in nushell/elvish to what I have now would be a delightful rabbit hole to dive down. I think I shall put it in my "Shower Ideas" @obsidian note for future inspiration :)

(For example, the #tmux plugin in oh my zsh has a setting to ensure that only one instance of tmux runs no matter how many shells I open.)
