One of my weekend projects is to recap the PSU for a BBC micro I've taken ownership of. While I'm desoldering all the old capacitors let's just take a moment to admire this circuit board.
Not only are there beautiful fat wiggly tracks, obviously hand designed, but every single solder joint here looks like it was made individually. This machine is literally hand made.
made a new release of my JLCPCB Altium libraries.
this new release contains 55451 resistors, 15361 capacitors, 5047 inductors, and a brand new addition: 2384 ferrite beads.
I also fixed an issue where inductors had their category labelled incorrectly and their inductance erroneously listed in the capacitance field.

I remembered I had another led lamp with different specs but rechargeableas well with usb. I opened it up and the charge chip is pretty much the same. The usb support circuit is a lot better though! Also same battery type in this one. Might mix and match to fix. And maybe add one of my esp boards as a controller #electronics

The usb cable provided is compliant. It just is a charge only and not a data cable at all. Which is fine. The receptacle board doesn’t populate the cc pins so it is not compliant with usb type c PD even for normal operation so plugging in a usb type c cable that does support PD doesn’t work since the sense is just not connected to anything. #electronics
