Coreyartus Imagery<p>Just finished Ryan Cahill’s latest book, Of Empires and Dust, which is the fourth book in his The Bound and the Broken series.</p><p>Phenomenal.</p><p>Cahill has a way with contrasting epic moments against deeply intimate character-driven moments. For all the old school epic fantasy tropes that he uses, the frames them in a way that fleshes them out and makes them endearing and fun.</p><p>He’s got a way with plot twists that are amazing, and his world building is quite deep, logical, and fascinating. Every time you think he can’t take it further he makes it even richer and illuminates a new corner of an entirely new direction. </p><p>But the heart of his talent is in his finely wrought characters. It’s a huge cast, and they’re all unique and compelling. He can make your heart soar and then drive you to tears. </p><p>I highly recommend his series. It was worth it to me, and I’m happy I found him. He’s great guy on a personal level, too, and deserves the success he’s getting.</p><p>And dragons. A brilliant take on them.</p><p><a href="https://ryancahillauthor.com/" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">ryancahillauthor.com/</span><span class="invisible"></span></a></p><p><a href="https://mindly.social/tags/bookstodon" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>bookstodon</span></a> <a href="https://mindly.social/tags/epicfantasy" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>epicfantasy</span></a> <a href="https://mindly.social/tags/fantasy" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>fantasy</span></a> <a href="https://mindly.social/tags/dragon" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>dragon</span></a> <a href="https://mindly.social/tags/fantasynovel" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>fantasynovel</span></a> <a href="https://mindly.social/tags/books" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>books</span></a> <a href="https://mindly.social/tags/TBATB" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>TBATB</span></a> <a href="https://mindly.social/tags/TheBoundAndTheBroken" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>TheBoundAndTheBroken</span></a></p>
