Vikki :verified:Day 21 of the <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/30DayMapChallenge" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#30DayMapChallenge</a> was <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/Raster" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#Raster</a>.It occurred to me recently that I haven't done a lot of playing with <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/QGIS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#QGIS</a> for this year's challenge, so I decided to combine that with this data of the <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/MarianaTrench" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#MarianaTrench</a> and create a <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/contour" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#contour</a> map.It took me a few tries as the trench is so vast that I had to play around a lot with the intervals at which contours were shown in order to have a map that produced anything readable.Most maps have contour lines for every ten metres, with the 50 and 100m intervals slightly thicker. The pink image below has lines only at every 100m, and had to be zoomed in quite far before you can distinguish any features.
