It's interesting how NextDC and Equinix differ in their security.
Equinix has airlocks, NextDC has individual pods that sometimes even work.
Equinix will send alerts about planned maintenance. NextDC does too, but they require explicit acknowledgement of receipt.
Equinix's security desks are always staffed during office hours, and pingable after hours. NextDC's desks are a crapshoot.
Both are light years ahead of Vocus, but that shouldn't come as a surprise #ausnog

I've been involved in the Internet standards process, chaired working groups, and hosted a meeting of the #IETF. Also been involved with various network operator groups (#NOG), including running the programme at #AusNOG for a number of years. Now just doing the odd bit of consulting and training, #BGP and #IXP.
Interests include #travel and #photography, usually at the same time. Motivation for photography without travel is hard, or maybe my kit just weighs too much.
