True Life with ADD (or as some call it ADHD) #ADHD #ADD #Taxes #April15 #TaxDay
For an American who has ADD, on Tax Day April 15, it tends to be a rather "fraught" day. I ALWAYS expect I will be ready ahead of time and at the very least, know where my W-2 forms are and have the free tax prep service I use ready to fire up on the desktop computer.
Reality: The "special place" I put my W-2 forms for this year is again completely a mystery. Every dang year I decide on the day they arrive by mail, "THIS year" I am putting them in such an extra special place, they will be right at hand.

(Who am I kidding?)
My day: 6 am to 2 pm, intensive search for those damn forms. I did manage to learn something over the years, since this is always a BIG FAT PROBLEM, I use that time to throw away paperwork and stuff I have not bothered to cull or file away. I now have my usual 5 pound bag of paperwork to recycle. And I managed to cull extra documents in 3 file boxes AND, omg, I got nice label maker labels on brand new file folders for this year 2025!
But, although this sounds great, that was a really stressful 8 hours. Taxes files and I already got verification the Federal tax submission is accepted. State of AZ may be a week yet. Direct deposit on the refunds, so $1,600 is going to be very appreciated in my account in about a week or 2.
