I've seen
this movie before

falling asleep
I overcome
gravity

Most saints
were sinners once
Just like us
Tap dancing
on the spectrum
of morality
Flawed creatures
charged with a variety
of wrong way violations
Yet they found the resolve
to overcome their core imperfections
and get their shit together
prior to checking out
we think ourselves safe
glass separated
avoiding that chemical turn
it would be nice to blend
the way coffee and cream
or salt and caramel blend
imagine being able to say
we mix so well we make ourselves
and the world around us better
instead of sounding the alarm
for evacuation of our vicinity
and hoping people make it clear
before we ignite

a roof garden to die for

I lose my craving
for sushi

dire circumstances
baked fresh daily

they want to build
their homes from the bones of us
wean their whelps
with the rich red
from our still beating
hearts
these people always
return to the mean
mediocre each time -
selling flabby violence
they want to brand us
with time and light
and their peculiar
inane insanities
they want to baptise us
in their frothing drool
simplifying simpletons
and their gallus gormless
celebrants - 'we didn't think
they'd feast on our meat too'

i went to the marketplace
of ideas, just to browse
long trestles of thinkings
in various stages of wear and tear
many bloody, old, wrinkled
often pumped with plastic
or saline to plump them shiny
but daylit to lumpy sagging slop
so many ideas dug clear
from graves of grand or great grand
parents heavy with rot
so many uniformed
jackbooted - priced cheap
piled high to sell to those desperate
for something to hold
but unwilling to spend
