Samsung is preparing for the next One UI 7 Watch Beta!

After the One UI 7 rollout resume and its aggressive rollout nature in Korea, Samsung is preparing for the One UI 7 Watch Beta Program by a new firmware for the Galaxy Watch7 and the Watch Ultra smartwatches. This is first spotted by Alfatürk in X where the firmware information for the Watch7 44mm version, SM-L310, was shown with the first Beta version of the upcoming One UI Watch.

We are, however, skeptical as it’s uploaded to a country, Türkiye (TUR), that was never eligible for any Beta program, but we’ve verified that the Korean firmware was also uploaded, and we expect that, just like the previous Beta program, only Korea and USA are eligible for this update, with the BT models being the only target.

The Korean firmware servers say:

  • L300XXU1ZYDA (KOO)
  • L310XXU1ZYDA (KOO)
  • L700XXU1ZYDA (KOO)

We have no information about this build, but we’ll provide you with more information once Samsung makes the Beta program official, which will start during the first days of this summer.

Galaxy Watch6 receives a new update

After Samsung rolled out the stability update to the Galaxy Watch7 series, Samsung has started rolling out a new software update that is rather massive to the Galaxy Watch6 series, starting from Korea. The flagship watches will be updated to the following versions:

  • Galaxy Watch6 40mm (BT and Cellular, SM-R930/R935x): BYD1
  • Galaxy Watch6 44mm (BT and Cellular, SM-R940/R945x): BYD1
  • Galaxy Watch6 Classic 40mm (BT and Cellular, SM-R950/R955x): BYD1
  • Galaxy Watch6 Classic 44mm (BT and Cellular, SM-R960/R965x): BYD1

You can now update your smartwatch, but if you still didn’t receive any update, you’ll have to wait for a few days as this rollout is a gradual rollout that starts from Korea. You can periodically check for updates to see if this update has reached your device. We recommend that you update your watch manager in your phone to ensure compatibility with the latest software.

To update your watch, follow these steps:

  • With your phone
    1. Open Galaxy Wearable
    2. Select your watch
    3. Open Watch settings
    4. Navigate to Software Update
    5. Tap Download and Install
    6. Wait until the update shows up, then press Download
    7. Wait until the update gets downloaded and copied to your watch, then press Install
  • With your watch
    1. Open Settings
    2. Navigate to Software update
    3. Tap Download and Install
    4. Wait until the update shows up, then press Download
    5. Wait until it gets downloaded to your watch, then press Install

In an event that something went wrong with copying the update, disconnect your phone from your watch by turning Bluetooth off or by disconnecting it through Galaxy Wearable, then try again from your watch. Make sure to turn Wi-Fi on in your watch to download the update faster.

Make sure that both your phone and your watch are charged before performing the update, and that your internet connection is stable. Never interrupt the update process, or there could be problems later. The update process may take a few minutes to finish, and if it appears to be stuck, just wait for more minutes.

So, when these Apple devices die (or rather, when the updates have slowed them down enough, and the battery has depleted to the point of not getting through the day - which should be next year or the year after, if the pattern holds)… my next devices will be some of the following, and I’m looking forward to the challenge of getting them to work… any recommendations?

Phone options:
- Pine Phone
- Fair Phone
- Murena
- Librem
- Pro 1x
- Volla Phone
- SageTea XFone

Watches:

Any suggestions or advice?

My sleep is broken
My Mental Health is broken
My body is broken in so many little ways...

It's a Gordian tangle and I'm a bit sick of not knowing what's affecting what.

(NB: Again, this is not a Pity Me post. Kindness and Support are always welcome but not being specifically requested at this time. Other people need that from you much more than I do; just have a scroll. Despite it all I am, in my star-like core, robust enough internally to bear these burdens...for now)

SO.

Let's try and fix this as much as I can, starting with sleep, perchance? Sleep feels pretty foundational, doesn't it? Aye, there's the rub. Bad sleep means life is harder across the board. Without being funny I'm
really tired of not sleeping.

Enter:
Sleepio.com, prescribed by my GP (US'ians = HMO). I've just signed up and gone through the onboarding process, answered a lot of questions about sleep quality, quantity, goals, etc, and completed Session 1.

According to Sleepio, 90% Sleep Efficiency (tm) is where we feel Rested after sleeping. My sleep efficiency score is 49%. Even I had to laugh at that.
:neobread_laugh:

I'm also now committed to recording my sleep every day this week. I bought an ultra-cheap (cautious, toe-dipping) little smartwatch fitness-tracker thing earlier this month that is perfect for this, as long as I can stand wearing the thing: I haven't worn a watch since the 80s. But you know what
shut up Uraael this is Medical so you can bally well live with a little irritation if it helps you in the long run, a'richt? 👍👍

It's a six week course. We'll see how we go.

So I have a "smartwatch" that supposedly measures pulse, O2 and blood pressure. Strangely enough it still records non zero numbers (and in range) when sitting on the nightstand charging for 90 minutes. So is it all scam or is there some logical explanation for this behavior?
