I just got back from a gorgeous week visiting fam in Belfast. When I go back “home” (despite not having lived there full time since 2007) it always gives me a sense of relaxation and comfort I can get nowhere else. During the pandemic, I got stuck there for about 6 months with only a small bag of belongings, which was a good reminder of how little we really need in life. Around that time, I took an outdoor survival and foraging course with a few friends at the Finnebrogue estate, and these are a couple of photos I took when we were shown how to start a fire.

Terrible weather here in Ireland today. It's pouring cold, cold rain.

Think I'll go see a castle.

Once visited a cliff top castle in Wales while a hurricane was passing through. No joke.

Castles are there for you in the foulest of times. They're for foul times, not fair and these are foul times to be sure.

How is it that I have not heard one bad thing about #Ireland and whenever I‘m there I enjoy lovely nature, folks and weather? What’s the catch? What’s their dark secret nobody talks about? (Is it mold in dampy bathrooms? I could handle that!)
