M. L. Clark<p>Just a wee one to start us off this week. Don’t let the title of this recently acclaimed four-part miniseries mislead you: Adolescence isn’t just about the volatile mess of a teen’s mind, and its potentially ruinous consequences. It’s a snapshot of a sort of behaviour that can and does exist at any age—including among many adults who unfortunately shape large swaths of our world.</p><p><a href="https://wandering.shop/tags/TV" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>TV</span></a> <a href="https://wandering.shop/tags/MediaLiteracy" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>MediaLiteracy</span></a> <a href="https://wandering.shop/tags/Politics" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Politics</span></a> <a href="https://wandering.shop/tags/HumanBehaviour" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>HumanBehaviour</span></a> <a href="https://wandering.shop/tags/Humanism" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Humanism</span></a><br><a href="https://open.substack.com/pub/mlclark/p/the-teenagers-in-the-room-with-us?r=1ii76&amp;utm_campaign=post&amp;utm_medium=web" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">open.substack.com/pub/mlclark/</span><span class="invisible">p/the-teenagers-in-the-room-with-us?r=1ii76&amp;utm_campaign=post&amp;utm_medium=web</span></a></p>

It’s been tough to figure out how to write so that I’m not just playing into the latest incendiary news cycle—and also, to offer something more than a reminder of how bad a moment we’re moving through. M. L. Clark<p>The last of our bleak posts this week! To start our new year off “right”, I offer this little reminder from 1941 that the West has always been wrestling with authoritarianism from within, as well as from without.
