After a bit of searching (and trying demos of several paid software), I think I found a good program for making Blackwork patterns! It's a free website, and also has options for cross stitch: https://flosscross.com/

What do you think about this little teddy bear, that I made for this month’s mini quilt?
I think he’s adorable!!
I talk about him, in this week’s video & share how next week.
I finished my little car!
I made a small change to the pattern by making the spokes of the wheels black and yellow instead of just yellow as the pattern dictates, because I didn't like the look of it.
Either way I'm sure dad will like it, because he likes cars and will appreciate the effort I put into making it.
Oh, the Lacis Museum newsletter highlights the #embroidery artist who takes old Army Surplus and embroiders on them as "journal jackets"! I loved that, saw it during the pandemic.
Also--the #Armenian #needlelace artist is terrific, I've heard her talk.

Really chuffed with how my little magnets turned out!
I had the idea of making magnets ages ago, and brand new products are always a bit scary to release, but I can honestly say that I am really proud of these little guys!
They’re also really fun to make

Here is my journey to make a name patch. The top had a lot of gaps between the feathers and while it gives an outline it wasn't the look I was going for. I also double embroidered part which made it stick out more but also wasn't what I was trying to do.
Second attempt (middle) is better, but still gaps and the middle got messed up from puckering and some other issues.
Third attempt I made a bunch of changes from what I had learned, redesigned the center, routed jump stitches, and then switched to orange so I wouldn't use all my silver thread and I really like it. I might just slap velcro on the back of that one and wear it.
The key with any learning experience is to examine the failures and experiment to fix it. Starting from scratch with this design I am proud of how it turned out in the end. Using Ink Stitch for digitizing and a Brother SE700 for stitching.
Sharing an older book while waiting to finish new ones. Custom sketchbook from last year

Did a bit of #VisibleMending on smallest daughter’s current favourite sweatpants. The bunnies are cute and always fun to use the #embroidery skills on something practical as well as appealing. #RepairReuseRecycle #Stitchcraft #HandSewing
I am working on the upcoming release of my insect magnets!
Today, I finished 5 purple moths (I put the finished ones on my girls’ cage hehe), I will get started on the beetles tomorrow!
There will be 5 of each model available for the first drop. I’m hoping to release them on Sunday. I will keep you updated!
I share the decorative stitching, and some thoughts on how I’ll be embellishing my April mini quilt.

i added LOTS of patches to my waist pouch and brought it along thinking i’d need it for outfits without pockets. turns out i’m just wearing it all the time for the great convenience of storing my face mask! it’s something i frequently take on and off whenever we pop indoors and out.
Three of nine characters stitch-complete. Two pear characters and the acorn hat character are done. A pair each of cherry, strawberry, and apple pickers remain.
