Jens Bannmann<p>Very interesting article, thanks a lot, <span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://front-end.social/@stephaniewalter" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">@<span>stephaniewalter</span></a></span>!</p><p>The bit about using calendars for looking at the past reminded me of something I built for myself and a few of my colleagues: copying work logs from an issue tracker (<a href="https://nerdculture.de/tags/Atlassian" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Atlassian</span></a> <a href="https://nerdculture.de/tags/Jira" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Jira</span></a>) &amp; from a time tracking app (<a href="https://nerdculture.de/tags/Clockodo" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Clockodo</span></a>) to one's calendar in order to quickly see gaps or inconsistencies. <a href="https://nerdculture.de/@tynstar/110694908227775679" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">nerdculture.de/@tynstar/110694</span><span class="invisible">908227775679</span></a></p><p>Also, funny that it mentions "<a href="https://nerdculture.de/tags/Spotify" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Spotify</span></a> to Calendar": I had the same idea, it's down in my backlog - is anybody interested?</p>

Jens Bannmann<p>Obviously, <a href="https://nerdculture.de/tags/Clockodo" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Clockodo</span></a> is not used as widely as other <a href="https://nerdculture.de/tags/TimeTracking" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>TimeTracking</span></a> apps, so (for now) you will probably only get to reuse one half of my solution.</p><p>Still, I'm pretty sure that seeing your Jira work logs in a calendar view can already help quite a bit in identifying gaps. Also, remember that you can now see work logs side by side with your regular events, e.g meetings.</p><p>🧵<br>4/8</p>
Jens Bannmann<p>The time tracking system that my company uses, <a href="https://nerdculture.de/tags/Clockodo" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Clockodo</span></a>, has a nice calendar-like page where one can easily see which times have been logged on what projects and quickly identify any gaps.</p><p>Unfortunately, <a href="https://nerdculture.de/tags/Atlassian" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Atlassian</span></a> <a href="https://nerdculture.de/tags/Jira" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Jira</span></a> does not.</p><p>So I had the crazy idea of synchronizing both to my work calendar. That became part of my plans for my <span class="h-card"><a href="https://corp.social/@chronolink" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">@<span>chronolink</span></a></span> <a href="https://nerdculture.de/tags/Calendar" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Calendar</span></a> <a href="https://nerdculture.de/tags/Synchronization" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Synchronization</span></a> service.</p><p>Clockodo was already integrated, but last week I implemented the Jira integration.</p><p>🧵<br>3/8</p>
