I've been formatting books for seven years now and have done hundreds of titles. Have a new book you want to self-publish, but just don't quite know how to prep your book files? We use Vellum for the Mac, and provide formatting for ePub (all formats) and pdf/print.
Best of all? It's just $85, changes included. Try it now:

I just read Slipstick. It is an amazing flowing compilation of ideas and philosophy, and I'm not sure if the author contributed more than finding and giving the chaos order, but that's okay! Seriously, half-way through reading it, I opened a document to copy out the best parts to contemplate later. Definitely requires a bookmark!
Indeed, this master work is
Not for the faint of heart
—you won't like some of it—but if you don't learn something to focus your existential thoughts upon, that's probably because you closed the document (and virtually turned the book over), because something you read frightened some truth into you…
Highly recommended.
@KatieMay just finished writing her blog on the design of the Blood Sigil Dynamic, Reign of Blood! Sorry for the delay. Come see!!
The confusion that some have on this point, two last names in Spanish and Portuguese cultures, as well as surname coming first in many Asian cultures, makes for some fun adventures in bookstores and libraries. Need to check several places for the same author.

For some, power is a way of life. They view control as currency and people as property to own or problems to solve.

Two of Robert McChesney’s books:
“An early book, “Rich Media, Poor Democracy” (1999), warned that consolidation in journalism would undermine democratic norms.”
“Digital Disconnect: How Capitalism Is Turning the Internet Against Democracy” (2013), he rejected the utopian view that the digital revolution would usher in an open frontier of information sources and invigorate democracy.”
Robert W. McChesney, Who Warned of Corporate Media Control, Dies at 72
By Trip Gabriel, 2025-04-08
McChesney “argued that corporate ownership was bad for American journalism and that Silicon Valley billionaires who dominated online information were a threat to democracy.”
Two of his books: Rich Media, Poor Democracy (1999), Digital Disconnect: How Capitalism Is Turning the Internet Against Democracy (2013)
"This book is essential reading for students and scholars of critical approaches to global development, and for anyone interested in how capitalist domination came to be and how the bio-meatabolic imbalances it created might be redressed."

Re-reading Krabat, must have first read aged 13 or 14. Suspenseful stuff about black magic, set in early 19th century East Germany. Not sure if/how popular in English-speaking countries.
"The Trump administration’s decision to order the banning of certain books from the U.S. Naval Academy’s library is a case study in ideological censorship, alumni and academics say."
"The purge at the library is extremely rare and possibly unprecedented at an institute of higher education, said Philomena Polefrone of American Booksellers for Free Expression, a group representing independent booksellers."

It has been hard to concentrate on reading lately, then writing a review once I've finished, which for this book was two days ago. I highly recommend Nghi Vo's new novella, as well as the novel that preceded it. Both are superior to the book they are based on.
The most Be Ungovernable anarchosyndicalist passage of any fiction Ive read:
"We have heard enough, however. Later, when we process all of this, I will tell the others, 'she wants to be a person'.
'She wants the impossible', Dushwha will say. 'Gallat thinks it better to own her himself, rather than [the government] do the same. But for her to be a person, she must stop being ownable. By anyone.'
'Then [the government] must stop being so,' Gaewha will add sadly.
Yes, they will all be right...but that does not mean Kelenli's desire to be free is wrong.
Or that something is impossible just because it is very, very hard."

The second part will be published this year.
Even if I'm going out on a limb here: I'm planning a translation into English and a print version.
