My favorite character of Hungarian jokes is Aggressive Piglet. There are dozens of jokes, and they are... very quotable.
1.
#AggressivePiglet rides a bike, runs into a wall, and falls. Rabbit sees this.
"OMG, Piglet, are you okay?"
Piglet:
"Shut up! THIS IS HOW I PARK!"
2.
"Piglet, what are you doing up that tree?"
"Eating cherries!"
"But piglet, this is a pine tree!"
"I BROUGHT SOME!"
Finally, my favorite
3.
"Piglet, wake up! It will be 8 o'clock soon!"
"NO IT WON'T BE!"
@TarkabarkaHolgy These are intensely weird and I am absolutely here for them.
@NinjaDebugger I know right? And yet we all know people like this...
@TarkabarkaHolgy Agg.Pig. is universal
@TarkabarkaHolgy would it be agresszív malac in Hungarian? asking because i am learning the language and culture 8)
@kym Agresszív kismalac
@TarkabarkaHolgy köszi szépen 8)
@TarkabarkaHolgy I have a Hungarian friend, and now I feel like I understand him so much better
@Violinknitter Oh yeah these are quintessentially Hungarian :D
@Violinknitter
The best AP joke:
Pig needs a lawnmower. He goes to Hedgehog. On the way he starts thinking:
"I'll just ask to borrow his. He's a nice guy, I'm sure he'll agree. I mean, he's been nice. Except once. I don't think he likes me. He thinks I'm not good enough. I bet he doesn't trust me. He'll be like 'Piglet, you're goin to break it'. What a jerk. And that lawnmower's ancient anyway."
He gets to Hedgehog's, knocks.
"Hey Piglet what can I do for you?"
"**** YOUR LAWNMOWER, HEDGEHOG!"
@TarkabarkaHolgy Oh gosh, there’s one of these guys in every neighborhood!
@Violinknitter Yep, this whole joke is a mood. To the point where people will quote this joke as "calm down, don't go over there like '*** your lawnmower Hedgehog'" :D
@TarkabarkaHolgy Honestly, that sounds like an extremely helpful cultural touchstone
@Violinknitter Lol it is. And since jokes are folklore, there are also varianst like "*** your ladder, Rabbit" and other various animals and household appliances :D
@TarkabarkaHolgy @Violinknitter These were the laughs that I didn't know I needed til it happened. Thanks for this share!
@TarkabarkaHolgy @Violinknitter this one has vibes of that "ARE YOU ****ING SORRY?!" greentext meme.
@TarkabarkaHolgy: I'm not entirely sure if there's intended to be an identification with the character from Winnie-the-Pooh stories, but if so, he spells his name as Piglit.
Because he's such a lit piggie.
@riley It's not, it's a generic piglet :) Piglit has a different name in Hungarian.
@TarkabarkaHolgy: What is it?
@riley Malacka. The piglet in the jokes is Kismalac.
@TarkabarkaHolgy LOL these are so good, is there an aggressive piglet fan club?
@javierlazarosanz NO THERE ISN'T!!!
There should be though
@TarkabarkaHolgy I don’t get it.
@TarkabarkaHolgy I am so here for Aggressive Piglet
NO YOU'RE NOT, YOU ******* WEIRDO!
@TarkabarkaHolgy please please share more
@lambic just did :)
@TarkabarkaHolgy oh wow. I also heard the 2nd joke in a slightly different format. (I'm not from hungary) i like the other two too xd
@TarkabarkaHolgy "No it won't be!" speaks to my heart
@TarkabarkaHolgy That would work really well for Piglet, the character of Winnie Pooh, in the Russian animated series :)
@TarkabarkaHolgy Yesterday we just were talking about some "friends" like that, @Gailetagilearen_Alaba Nice hungarian jokes. We just can laugh at them, poor socially disabled people.
@txikillana @Gailetagilearen_Alaba I mean, I grew up around some people who never admitted they were wrong, or that they were capable of making mistakes (like Piglet). I am glad I got to a point where I can laugh at them now.
@TarkabarkaHolgy @txikillana I am glad I learned a few jokes about them!
