This is what I find so fascinating about religious belief. Literally anything goes. If you believe in one god then all the other conceivable gods are equally possible.
Just before the Big Bang would be the perfect hiding place, which conveniently provides a prime cause for existence.
It's not difficult to construct a whole theology based on that idea.
@riggbeck @dan613 Ridiculous... what makes you so sure there was a big bang. While I agree with the science points in that direction, there's some fundamental flaws with the theory. First and foremost is that the math breaks down at the moment of. Also, for it to be understood, there needs to be nothing. No imaginary men hiding there. It's just dumb logic to posit such ridiculousness. You can what if any to death, but be assured you'll die someday along with the what ifs.
@AutisticMumTo3 @riggbeck @dan613
Well.... one person's extreme is another's salvation. Of course, nobody ever thinks about how atheists are regularly abused, both physically and mentally. There are laws in some countries that require atheists, not Christians, to be put to death. But no, let's pile on the atheists because people are people, and there are a few rogues in any crowd. Just look at your money and tell me that atheists are rioting because of that establishment.
@lednabwm @riggbeck @dan613
There are countries where Christians risk their lives if anyone knows they are Christians too. Every religion related belief can put you at risk somewhere. I don't deny there are theists who will kill for their beliefs including theists with power. Also dog piling & killing people for their beliefs is bad regardless of who does it.
@AutisticMumTo3 @lednabwm @riggbeck @dan613
Of course.
There is one main difference of course. AFAIK, there are no countries where theists are persecuted by an atheist government.
China and the USSR were exceptions, but that is no longer.
And please don't give me Falun Gong and Uighurs. That is the totalitarian state persecuting what it believes are political opponents.
@MennoWolff Religion is always a good excuse for totalitarians anyway
