@MeanwhileinCanada Point taken, but the song is widely misunderstood. It's about a very specific kind of harsh education that was prevalent in 1950s UK. The song is not anti-education, but instead reflects how that specific system resulted in that attitude among many pupils.
In a way, it's appropriately referenced here because it was a primary germ of the 'gammon' attitude which in our time has led to widespread anti-education by those who went through that way back when.
